Research Interests
My current research interest combine geological methodology and anthropological theory in order to examine the role of ground stone tools in Mesoamerican society. I am specifically examining the Lowland Maya and their use of local and non-local geological resources for food grinding tasks. I have a background in the geosciences as well as anthropology. My MA research was conducted in Belize and centered around ground stone tool raw materials and how they related to household organization.
